65th Annual

June 27-29, 2025

65 Years of Tradition

Each summer, dancers, drummers, families, and visitors gather in Fort Washakie, WY, to experience the heartbeat of the drum, the power of the dance, and the strength of Indigenous traditions.

From generation to generation, the love of family, community, and culture has been celebrated within powwows—a time-honored tradition among Indigenous peoples. Powwows are more than just gatherings; they are celebrations, prayers, and expressions of love for all our relations. They honor the past, embrace the present, and strengthen the future.

For centuries, powwows have marked moments of great significance—a rewarding hunt, a successful harvest, the preparation of warriors, and heartfelt gratitude to the spirits. They are a sacred space where the spiritual circle connects us to our ancestors, the land, and each other. Powwows are also a time for healing—where animosities are set aside, and enemies can come together in truce, unity, and respect.
